Besides a duck, that one is cute is what it is! Cuteness overload. I have a soft spot for ducks! That is why 4 turned into 18 and then 24 and who knows how many they will hatch out themselves this year!

Thank you...Appreciated. I miss my Appleyard flock immensely..Wonderful Birds...Get Ducks your wife will love them too..My Husband likes mine. Feathered Puppies all their lives..

UPDATE: I reached out to Holderread in Oregon, and they replied with "pure Silver Appleyards will occasionally throw ducklings like the one in the photo you sent. Briefly, it has to do with the restricted gene (the bird in the photo does not carry it)" and went on to say that to keep the "restricted gene" going, you would not use one with these markings for future breedings.

This confirmed what @chickens really had said about it being a pure Appleyard.

So, I will keep it in mind and make sure that this one doesn't end up in my breeding stock, but it sure is cute!
