Hi fellow Michiganders. Well, I was planning to drop my babies off to a petting farm the first of July, however, I'm finding it more difficult as time goes on. I got these random eggs from a farm in Canton. Having never hatched ANYTHING before, I never expected any to hatch. However, 3 did. Levi-a Pekin duck, Moose- a Chinese/Toulous mix and Lucy-an Emden. Well, Moose broke his bill 2 days ago. A small break but bleeding and looking awkward. I took him to the vet today. $95.00 later, I was given some antibiotic powder and an anti-inflammatory. After I got back from the vet, and Moose was freaked out, I sat in my driveway playing candy crush and let the birds out of their pen. Even after the trauma of a vet visit, all 3 birds came right to my chair and began to pull on my pants, chew my shoes and pull my hair. ( I have long hair that goes over the back of my chair.) After giving them a treat(dried mealworms) they began to play in the pool then groom themselves. It was a beautiful, quiet afternoon and they grazed on the grass and napped.

When I take them to the farm in 2 weeks as I planned, it will be extremely noisy with 30 other ducks and geese, no grass and a large pond.

There quiet serene afternoons will turn into LOUD mayham and ducks and geese that don't know them.

Their quiet indoor night in the living room will be outdoor survival from raccoons.

I'm considering keeping them, but if I do, they would need a coop of some sort completely animal proof with a closed in area for heat and or safety at night.

Who can I call to build me this?

have you considered building one like a large greenhouse/ glasshouse with wire over the vents so that they can be opened, or even a single garage with an open end ( but wire for protection) and some poly carb to replace some of the roof/sides for light and warmth?
