Best brand of food for chicks?

If you're looking for an organic, non-GMO feed you might want to try Nature's Best Organic Chick Starter. TSC carries it (at least they do in Pennsylvania). I use it for the whole flock, as I haven't been able to find a local vendor that carries an all-flock feed that's organic and non-GMO.

I started with Dumor, and had the worst experience with it. The Silkie chicks didn't really care for it, and it give them really frothy, smelly poops. I switched to MannaPro Medicated, and they were really into it and had better poops. I have them on MannaPro Grower Crumbles now, and they're pretty into it. Unfortunately, my local feed stores only carry it in small 10lb bags so it's becoming a PITA to feed. I'm going to switch them to Blue Seal Multi-Flock Starter-Grower Crumbles.

My adult Silkie rooster is getting Purina something-or-other, and I must say, I am not a fan. It appears to make his poops softer and stick to his fluffy backside.

The DuMor was chalky and mostly powder. It smelled horrible and made their poop look and smell awful... I did not like it and was relived when I switched.

I threw it out after using it for three days. I'm about ready to do the same the Purina whatever.
