I think the word good covers most brands. Added "stuff" makes them great!Hey!

I feed Purina Flock Raiser, an all-flock feed that's always fresh at my local feed stores. There are national and regional choices, an local feed mills that make feed. There's no one best choice for everyone! Feed needs to be fresh (mill date on bag better than four or five weeks). Then it needs to meet the needs of your flock. Then there's the choice of organic or not, and if you happen to be very allergic to some particular grain, a feed without that ingredient will improve your life too. Some people have very strong opinions about feeds, some base on science, and some not. Mary
Remember though, if your chicks are vaccinated you do not need medicated feed.
Most medicated chick starter has amprolium, which is not an antibiotic, and slows the growth of coccidia, a common intestinal parasite that can sicken and kill chicks. Chicks are most often vaccinated against Marek's disease, which has nothing to do with amprolium or coccidia. Mary
