I thought I had decided on what breed my first chickens would be, but now I’m second guessing myself. I had chosen Faverolles, they are friendly, decent layers, and I had read they were good for beginners. But I live in South Carolina. And it gets really hot and humid here. Nothing I have read says they are heat hardy birds. I am wanting a bird that isn’t very noisy, lays well, heat hardy, is friendly, and not broody. Is there a bird out there for me?
