So I’m planning on started some silkie breeding projects in the near future, but I’m going to need atleast two probably three different coops to put in the pasture to seperate the groups. Does anybody have a good set up or bought a good set up they use for breeding multiple batches as well as growing out the babies? I have some ideas, but I’m working with a smaller budget.
Also I live in Indiana and the weather is all over the place, so weather inclusive ideas or plans that can be modified to fit weather are ideal.

In my dreams... I would build a big barn, where multiple coops radiate off of the middle section. So you stand in one spot to feed, water, and check on multiple coops.

For less money, I like chicken tractors.

The hoop coop versions are often the least expensive as well as easiest to move.

A bunch of chicken tractors is great for seperated breeding pairs or trios, as well as growing out chicks, or a broody hen.

If you get much snow, I would suggest one stationary coop where they all live together in the winter/snow season.

Then separate everyone out into tractors come spring.

I know there's photos of some breeding pens on the site somewhere. I'd choose an inside building for the coop boxes and runs off it. If that won't work, you can make the coops one long box raised up, with runs off them. The last option, which I plan to do in Spring-Fall is to have movable coops with electric netting. Winter I'll move them into converted barn stalls that are predator proofed. We have too many Coyotes and Foxes, and even an occasional bear. If you watch your area on Craigslist and FB Marketplace, you might find an old shed for sale.
