I wish we had more snow here! Of course we are more north now so we've had snow but it never settles on the ground. I do NOT want the amount of snow you get, but a little would be fun for the ducks

Mine don’t come out in snow
They stay in the outdoor room and coop
Avoid snow at all times
Even my one emu will stand at her door and hiss and get her heck all big at the white stuff on the ground

Finally got some snow today!

The ducks have made sure to inform me of how deeply they are disappointed in my conduct for allowing this ridiculousness to occur and that I need to do better.

Mine have actually forgiven me since the snow and ice has melted away but I am sure if we get any over the weekend like predicted, they will be back cussing me out in their duck language since it will of course be my fault. Good thing we can't interpret what they are actually saying

Everyone’s laying, the ducks, the geese, even some of the quail.
As usual the drakes are on high alert for egg thieving and viciously defending those precious eggies from being stolen by me, except it’s pretty much the goose eggs that the drakes are protecting, not the duck eggs, they barely care about the duck eggs. I can’t even get near a goose nest without Truffle and Sunbeam hanging off of me and if I dare try to reach for an egg it’s an all out brawl.

I guess the larger size makes them of higher value and priority to the drakes? Do they think there are magical giant ducklings in them?
