HI GUYS!, I've got a BEAUTIFUL Rhode island Red Rooster and 3 hens. A Barred Rock, a Black Star, and a Rhode Island Red. And I was wondering which hen would be best to breed with (Nugget) my RIR rooster. THANX GUYS!

Welcome to BYC! I would cross your RIR rooster with the Barred Rock hen which will produce a Black Sex Link (That's what your Black Star is). You will be able to sex the chicks by color at hatching (the male chicks will be black with a white spot on top of the head, and the females will be solid black). Black Sex Links are egg laying machines, better than either parent breed. Good luck.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Good luck with your breeding projects and welcome to our flock!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! All three hens should give you nice egg layers at least. ... if you are going to sell the chicks, using the RIR hen for pure RIR chicks or using the BR for black sex links where you know which are pullets, would probably be easiest to sell.

Totally agree with Michael and Kelsie but, you certainly are free to breed as you wish.
After you see the results you may want to try something else. BTW a rooster can handle 10 hens, much less and they can get overbred, damaged and sometimes killed by an amorous rooster with a hormone surge. A few more hens - any breed will really make a difference.
