The big blocks of "horse bedding" pine shavings at TSC, ect. are the same thing thats in the little packages (though pine and not aspen) for the same price or less. It's only 5$ for I think 20cu.ft. and I've always been told the only advanage with aspen over pine is that it's a little more fragrant.
