Where can you get the best egg laying Barred Rocks?

For just egglaying ability, common hatchery BRs are good. I doubt one hatchery is better than another in that regard.

For meeeting the standard in body type and coloring, you'll want breeder types.

I have a few Ideal Hatchery one's and they are excellent egg layers as well as good dispositions.

Most Barred rock breeding stock come from the same hatchery because most if not all hatcherys want the wing sexed gene.

I think a wing-sexed gene is a bird that when is hatched can be sexed by the colors that lay on the wing area.

Usually, BRs can be sexed by color at hatch. I dont even know that they can be wing sexed. Never needed to. Color sexing by head spot, down and legs works almost 90% of the time.
