Great idea! Thank you!I got my rooster in an extra large dog crate(for a Great Dane). I have a tree branch for him to roost and corner feeder and water dishes with a clip on bowl for treats. I also put a large plastic paint liner under for when he kicks. It stays pretty clean. He is content. Screams at me in the morning for food(well he has food, I think he is just used to the routine of me visiting him and giving him fresh food and water) and then he is quiet the rest of the day. Kerp up with dusting, lots of dust, but less then when they were babies inside.

what do you recommend for a cage/pen indoors?
She’s adorable perfect name!Cruella, our only hen is living inside and giving us an egg a day or two. She's happy in her cage and gets treats all day from my retired hubby. We've been using pine chips and are trying to figure out a way to keep them from getting out on the floor. I know in the old days there were products that you could put under a birdView attachment 1623239 cage.
Before you say it, she came to us old folks in the woods because a backyard chicken person that my son knows wanted to find her a new home because she was getting picked on by the other chickens. We can't leave her outside by herself and she loves her people and the dogs.
