best candler? what do you use??

I was looking for a new candler. I have an LED 8 bulb but it still isnt bright enough for me. What candler do you have? What candler do you suggest?? I would like to stay around 30-40 bucks. I want a really good one for cream and tinted eggs. I just have silkie eggs so they are not tooooo dark. Thanks!

Hmmmm, those are probably both good. I just use a 60watt bulb on a cord, suspend it in a small card board box with a small hole in it, and Voila- perfect candler. I can see through my hatchery stock Marans eggs with it very well, and those are fairly dark eggs. I guess I could up the wattage for brighter light, but I worry about the heat in the box and I get paranoid I'm gonna blind my chicks with too much light.

Let us know what you go with, maybe a review of your experience with what you choose?

I purchased the Brinsea for 50.00 from their website. I needed something for green eggs and dark eggs. Very pleased with it.

This is what i use and it as worked for all I have done. Its a 60w bulb and cardboard.
