Best Chicken Breed as a Comfort Pet?

At 6 weeks they'll be pretty set in their way. You can modify some behavior but not others. I've found that if you raise them from a couple days old you have a better chance of getting a chicken that likes to be held and such.
Also as @Brahma Chicken5000 said:
Also try to get at least two house chickens.
If that's a deal killer you might wanna rethink what pet you need. Just my advice mind you.
I wish you luck finding the best pet!

I have a small flock of 12 Silkies and I can attest to the fact that they make great comfort pets, even the more 'wild' ones I own tolerate being picked up and moved about, such as when I do health checks on them. They just whine and complain. I also get buried by the fluffs as you can see in the pic whenever I sit down, some of which won't be happy until you hug and snuggle them while others are more content to be petted. :lau I also tend to get a hen or roo on my head when I am doing cleaning and am kneeling down.

Mine like to go outside in the day and come back in at dusk, and they are very amusing to watch when out scratching about.
Lol, a week ago when my grand parents were visiting we had the door open and where screwing something onto it(my grandfather was screwing) and one of the girls jumped up onto his drilling arm and pecked me on the shoulder(I was turned around) as if to say “i got onto the new roost all by myself:lau

I had brahmas and they loved to be held but they enjoyed being outside and digging up whatever I recently planted. Find a loving home for her and she will be happy. Good luck.
have to agree with this, the brahmas i have are super calm and they love to be talked to, definitely like to talk back. big and fluffy

Screenshot from poultrykeeper.com. They’re so small that they can fit in the palm of your hand. I can’t wait to get my 3 pullets in March.

One of my brahmas, Rita, would come inside and jump up onto a kitchen chair looking for food on the table. If there was food on the table she would jump onto the table and start eating. My mom wasn’t too pleased. If you make chicken sounds to them they will respond to you. Maybe get a bantam brahma.
