Okay... I want your opinion on your favorite chickens, least, most docile, most nasty things, and this does include roosters (especially!!!)

I have received different breeds in the years I have been raising.. Here is my favorites starting at one being the most.

1.Buff Orpington
2.Rhode Island Red
3. Some sort of Production hen ( it is as red as the NHR but with white at the tips of its feathers)
3.Australorp
4.Silkie hen(The roosters have been nasty buggers though! The one is laid back and doesn't attack but the other is a bully)
5. New Hampshire Red
6. Rhode Island Red Rooster (He was laid back and gentle)
7. Welsummer hen
8.Welsummer rooster (He was the worst rooster ever, he was a brute all the way to his little heart, and the only time his brutality came in handy was when he killed a fox when it tried to eat a hen)
....I have had more but these where home raised and the others where strickly farm animals

Your Welsummer killed a fox?!

Rhode Island Red- so sweet and docile, sits on your shoulder
Salmon Faverolle- So sweet and docile and a little quirky (and a little ditzy)

But my favorite is my bratty bratty Silver Laced Wyandotte "Dotty" She's fiesty, hyper and fearless (and a little noisier than the others)- so funny to watch! But the RIR puts her back in her place when she gets out of hand lol.

Growing up I had Jungle Fowl and they were never very friendly at all.

I loved my Buff Orpington Rooster! He was "The Man" Not overly aggressive, I could handle him, but he protected his ladies and would attack if he thought you were a threat.

Here are my favorites...

1.Bantam Wyandottes
2.Bantam White Leghorns
3.Ashley my 10 year old hen that's still laying eggs and hatching chicks for me.She is a mix between all kinds of breeds.

Yeah... my welsummer rooster, named Roger, pretty much killed the thing. Ofcourse he was nastily injured to a point that he wasn't mean at all for a week or two.He was nasty, so everytime I see a rooster with the same color pattern I back away....shiver... The color just simbolizes "nasty" to me.
The hen is pretty mean too. She has these red eyes ( well you know red for a chickens), and I can't tell you how much I think they mean she is a blood thirster. She tried killing my goats when they got their horns burnt off, I had to separate her. She is also the meanest, in general, hen I have ever seen. No I simblize the red eyes to "killer". I stay away from breeds with that rich ruby color.. I can't remember what it was called.
I was looking at Faverolles and it seemed they had reddish eyes, but other than that they look like such sweet hearts... do they lay well?
Anyway.. thanks so far.. I'll keep your opinions in mind

I have a great amount of difficulty trying to determine which is the best breed. It seems that each time I see a breed that I don't have it suddenly becomes one that I need.
