Best chicken to use for chocolate silkies?

Hi! In the next few years I want to start my own line of chocolate silkies!I know they already exist,but I want to make my own any way. What would be the best breed to breed with the silkie to obtain these birds? I am looking for a bantam that is chocolate (Obviously). I know choco is recessive, I would breed whatever kind of chicken I will use to a black silkie,then breed from there. @MysteryChicken @The Moonshiner @Amer @nicalandia @RoostersAreAwesome @NatJ @DarJones

Chocolate isn't that popular of a color in chicken breeds.

I know there's Chocolate Mottled Cochins, Chocolate Orpingtons, & chocolate Silkies.

Maybe begin with either one?

I think I will use bantam chocolate orpingtons.

Silkies were originally LF, bantam silkie aren't.

If you want to go small, there's nothing wrong with that either.

I have always head they were originally a "true bantam", and LF was bred later

You could. But it's your choice really.

No, that's backwards. They were bred down to bantam size, by breeding them to bantam Cochins, D'uccles, & D'Anvers.
