Out of genuine curiosity my two groups of chickens are about a month to a month and a half apart in age but the older chickens are just so much bigger.one groups born mid to late April and second group was born May 27. I just find it odd they are so much bigger year so close in age.

Are they housed separately? If they're all together, the older youngsters may be keeping the littles away from the food.

If they're separated - and this year's hatches, the size difference is pretty normal. A month makes a huge difference when they're really young.

Well I have lavender Orpington, black majesty, barred rock, black sex link, Jersey giant lol but they all equal in size right now except the one Orpington she is little bigger. The second round is a barn yard mix out of my isa brown and 2 Easter eggers

they are all housed together now but they seem to be eating pretty regular every evening I go sit with them they are usually in the food or they come out and graze.

Assuming I read this correctly I bet your first group would be larger in size even if they were all the same age. Most EEs run a little more slender, and I'd definitely expect an Orp to be larger. Not sure what a black majesty is but I'm guessing it's a Marans hybrid, and Marans run larger as well.

Thank you. Yes my Orpington are huge lol, I have never had Easter eggers before. They remind me little fast road runners lol
