Locust shells. You know, those bugs that leave their skeletons on trees and wood and other stuff? They're like pork rinds for chickens!

I pulled one off of the tree next to my run and just for fun tossed it in to the chickens. What a hoot! It was nom nom nom keep away it's mine all mine all the way!

I thought my girls found a locust shell the other day on the ground, but judging by the hole it was digging itself into, there was still a locust IN it.

She enjoyed it just as much as if it had been empty. Took her about 5 minutes to finish it off.

That sounds like when my girls go out to the garden with me and I come across a tomato worm. Those things get HUGE! I hate them....those sap sucking, leaf eating &^$%*! So I give them the death they deserve. Death by chicken! It takes about 3-5 minutes, but whichever girl gets it will sling it, slap it, stomp it and peck it...then gulp!

Oh yes, those horn worms (little terrorists!) always start a game of "chicken football" at my house.
