best chickens for new people

what breed of chickens are best for new people? With kids? And a cold climate? I was thinking buff orpintons easter eggers and wyandottes. So what do you think? You are the experts. Any suggestions would be nice.

Buff Orpingtons are great around kids, they are very friendly. They also have very fluffy coats so they are great it cold climates. Same with Easter Eggers and Wyandottes. Rhode Island Reds are great too.

We just got our first chickens a month ago. We went with Buff Orpingtons because I read they are really gentle and friendly and good layers. They have been staying in a friend's brooder and we bring them home this weekend! I'm hoping they will be really good with my kids, who are very young.

Silkies are my favourite and for layers i like plymoth barred rocks They thrive in the cold!
