Best close to door

Hi all!
We finally have a duck interested in motherhood. She's been sitting on eggs for a couple weeks. My question is, the best is right next to the duck house door. I'm afraid the hangouts will tumble to their deaths. We have a ramp that doesn't have sides. Ideas?
