When you have been opening the nesting box doors day after day after day (5x a day
) waiting for your first EE egg and then BAM!!
I'm so happy I could cry!
. We had a thunderstorm last night, maybe it scared the egg outta her

Side note - slightly *less* best day ever, because last night I drove 4 hours to pick up some new ladies from someone who's been breading for 20+ years... It was dark when I got home (and I couldn't look at them when I picked them up because she was worried about biosecurity)... And this morning in the daylight I could see IMMEDIATELY that one of them has really bad scaly leg mites

. She even said "I looked them all over super carefully for any parasites or anything".... I need to say something, right? Like it would be one thing if it was just a random person, but she's supposed to be reputable, and a drove a long way and paid a lot.....

I'm so happy I could cry!
