best day to set eggs

Just talked to my mom she set 90 eggs 25 days ago and only got 35 hatched.. She said to look at the farmer's Almanac for the best days to set eggs it said to do on the April 16 17 18 for this month. she used the almanac last year and almost 98% hatched just some thing to think about.

Do hens go broody at a certain time during the cycle?

This is very interesting. I never even thought about it. Definitely time to get a Farmer's Almanac and do a little research.

I'm also curious about the moon phases affecting a hen's broody times.
