I Tablespoon per gallon is what I've just read on BYC. Going to start that tomorrow and see how it goes..

Yup 1 tbsp per gallon I use Braggs cause it has the mother but regular is still really healthy. I try all extras I can personally cause. O chicken vet anywhere remotely close

Sorry I didn't respond to that question. Somehow missed it. I has a bit of an issue with one of mine. I mainly use DE in a very small dusting in their nesting boxes and coops under the bedding it aids in preventing lots of different bugs.

Thanks, Rachel. So just sprinkle DE around the enclosure? Fortunately we are able to allow the chickens to free range but they spend a lot of time hanging around the enclosure, which is quite large for the four of them. I'm still trying to decide what would be the best ground cover for the enclosure. I've read pine chips work well so I may give that a shot. Thanks so much for your advice. Robin
