Anyone have any suggestions on a reliable duck coop? Winter will be here shortly and I want something for my Pekin and Orpington duck to stay warm and happy in on cold nights. I'd prefer to buy one than to build one. Thank you for your help!!!

House for ducks can be as simple as a dog house, or as elaborate as a big shed. With two ducks I might build a bigger dog house type. It all depends on whether you want to lock them in at night or not.

Yea I built this nice run and house for my ducks... they go into the house to lay but spend most of their nights out in the run in a favorite spot. If it's got three walls and a roof then they will be happy.

I have seen perfectly excellent duck houses at a feed.hardware store called Big R. I also think that Tractor Supply has similar items. Here is a small one I purchased some years ago:

Depending on your predator situation and how strong your run is, a big dog house works fine. Ducks are much more cold hardy than chickens to begin with. Mine is just a shed with a floor.

That looks like a terrific setup for the money! Just make sure that you know it will be smaller in life than it is in this photo. At least by a little bit.

We went out an bought a rubbermaid shed for $700 for our flock. Ours is 7x7, but we have more ducks than you do. You could probably make due with something smaller if you only have 2.
