Best duck feed options?

My favorites are Purina Duck Pellets, Purina Flock Raiser, and Nutrena All Flock. I've also used Purina Layer and been fine with that, and right now I'm feeding mostly Tractor Supply's Producer Pride Layer Pellets because they are about half the price of most of the other foods and well... everything is freaking expensive right now. The producers pride isn't my favorite but I have a large flock at the moment as well. I sometimes mix in a little bit of all flock or flock raiser.

I will second Purina duck. I had all kinds of problems with thin shells and poor feather quality before I switched to it.

Mine did not like oyster shell until I was also able to buy a 50 lb bag of crushed oyster shell which resembles a bag of cement. It is a powder with bits of shell. I mix it with their dried egg shells and they really like it.

We feed Mazuri waterfowl feeds at all life stages. We begin with starter and then switch over to maintenance. Once the girls start laying, we either bump up supplemental calcium or switch to layer if we don't have a young drake. Older drakes, per our vet, our fine on the Mazuri layer feed. Our ducks have feed free choice 24/7, and during the spring, summer and fall they are foraging most days. They also get "Soup for Ducks" 2x per day (peas with greens and mealworm crumble).

I offer both Mazuri Waterfowl Maintenance and Purina Duck Pellets with oyster shell. My 6 year old duck with chronic reproductive issues still has chronic reproductive issues on her duck specific diet with supplemental calcium, but everyone in general does quite well. I guess, since I’m thinking about it, I would say that my chronic repro issue duck has, at least, responded better to at-home care and has not needed any recent emergency Vet visits since the Mazuri Waterfowl was introduced!

I use Mazuri Waterfowl layer. I tried using other brands but they wasted half of it. On Mazuri there literally isn't a single piece left sitting around. I swear it ends up the same coist as the cheaper feeds because they don't waste any. I use Oyster Shells but find they eat it much better when I put a tablespoon or two over their food each day. I do the same thing with grit. Since I've been feeding it this way, I haven't had an issue with soft egg shells. Last summer I did separate bowls and they had soft shelled eggs.

For treats we mix up Black Soldier Fly Larva, shelled peanuts for birds, shelled black oil sunflower seeds. In the winter I add whole wheat and add some Vit E powder and Vitamin C powder over the feed 2-3 times a week. They also get a wide variety of fruits and veggies and bananas several times a week. Right now they love their cold half of watermelon every day and frozen veggie mix!
