So I'm a beginner and got my first birds over the past week. So far I have 5 black silkies (too young to know gender for sure) and a white polish hen. I don't plan on keeping all 5 silkies...just the females so I may end up with two silkies and my white polish.
I want to start slowly but I'm looking to get one or two more good egg laying hens to add to my flock. I know the Silkies and White Polish aren't really reliable egg layers. I've been researching a lot and it seems that silkies are often bullied. I want a good egg layer but a bird that is friendly and will be gentle with my little silkies. Any recommendations? Are Easter Eggers friendly...I know my son would be thrilled to have a bird that lays blue eggs!
