I have 15 I would have to make several to keep them from fussing over itI.made my feeder for about 10 bucks out of PVC pieces at home depot. It holds almost a weeks worth of food for my two girls and they can t knock the food out.
this might work well for me I will have to try it or A modified version good ideaView attachment 1096736
Total investment....$10.....six feeding holes, zero feed waste, can be used indoors or out..... can be made with any size tub or bucket and any number of feeding holes needed
The elbows allow for a clear eating hole down into the feed so that the bird is pecking the feed off the bottom of the container (you set them so the bottom of the elbow on the inside is about an inch off the bottom of the container) but you can fill the container well above the opening. Without the elbow there any feed above the opening point would spill out through the elbow. The elbow also makes it so that the birds can't scoop and bill the feed up and out of the opening and onto the ground.Do you really need the pvc in those buckets?
Wouldn't cutting circle holes in the sides accomplish the same thing?
Not really, unless you only put a small amount of feed in the container. My 5 gallon feeder will last 2 weeks with 8 hens when it is full.
