best fencing to use

I am planning a new pen for some chickens I am getting. The pen will be 4'x8', and at least 5' tall. It will be built within an existing barn. I am trying to keep the costs as low as possible without sacrificing safety. (The barn isn't totally secure. There have been raccoons in it.) What is your suggestion for wire to use? I have been looking at 1"x2" welded fencing and 1" chicken netting. Thanks in advance!

The chicken netting is easily chewed through by raccoons. I would go with a welded wire. I've even had raccoons chew through chicken wire before. In fact, lost about $600 worth of chickens, doves, pigeons, and quail in 1 night due to raccoons chewing through the fence. Now, I run metal across the bottom and top of all of my fences. It is expensive, so that's probably not the route you want to take. The welded wire is much more secure. Just get one with small enough mesh that weasels, etc. don't get in.
