Hi,
I have a 6'x8' coop, with just a dirt floor. I would like to put a floor in it, mostly to cut down on dust and to make it easier to clean. I've considered plywood, or brick pavers. What would you guys recommend. I would like something with some insulation value, since it does get very cold in the the winters here, and very hot in the summer. If I do put a floor in the coop, should I continue to put pine shavings in there? Does that have a benefit? Thanks,
James

well my chicken coops are wood floors and then we bed with flax, my bigger duck barn is a wood floor with rubber stall mats and then i bed in there with shavings.

What ever you decide I would put a piece of vinyl flooring over it a foot wider and longer than the demension of the floor,

Cut a six inch square off all four corners which will allow the flooring to go up six inches on the walls.

Pop it in before you bed it down with litter. It pops out easily and hoses off in a jiffy and pops back in a heartbeat.
