I would like some suggestions on what everyone thinks is the best organic non GMO chicken feed and where the best place to buy is. Please don't comment if you don't think I am 'wasting my money' on organic Non GMO feed. Thanks in advance:):

Backyard Homegrown!! lol, i grow most of my own food for them and save as much as i possibly can for winter, but during the winter we also get free old veggies for them and i grow my own mealworms and crickets (well, those started out as food for m lizards, frogs, turtles, and spiders, but now i just produce a bunch more) and they are fat and happy. Sorry, this is most likely not helpful, i feed normal layer from the feed store if i run out of other food...I'm mostly subscribing to see what other people answer to this question :)

Thanks! They will have access to lots of veggies as they will be with my sulcata tortoise

cool!! Sulcata tortoises are awesome!! if i ever got a tortoise, it would totally be one of those. I don't know what the temp is in south carolina, but if it ever gets like 10 degrees can the be outside or??? what do you do with him in the winter (if you even keep him outside, but since you are putting chickens in with him, i figured you are :) my moms only problem with me getting one is having to have a place for it in the house during winter.

My sulcata can not be outside if it gets below 55, he has his own structure outside with a heater when the temp drops. They grow big and quick and live a very very long time:)

Manna pro has good organic feeds and treats but price almost double the regular price. You can request it from your local feed store if they don't carry them. I special order mine alternate with my omega3 plus layena feeds.

ahh, makes sense :) I guess i will have to wait till i can give him a heated place for winter. :) Thanks!!
