We plan on buying some acreage and building a house in the next few years and i like the idea of a guard goose on the property instead of a big dog. I have 4 and 5 year old boys who will obviously be older by then but regardless i would like to not have to watch out when by the goose (i have not so fond memories of my grandpa's goose terrorizing me as a child). I plan on having free range chickens that i put up at night as well as the goose. Do geese tend to stay around the yard and not fly away? I'm planning on either hatching it myself or having it from a gosling so that it grows up with us and is familiar with our home. So i guess i'm just wondering what is the best breed for what i'm looking for?
