Best Hatchery?

I dont think any should arrive dead. Ive never had a dead one arrive. My local feed store orders from Meyers and she has never had a DOA in 4 years.

Bases on quality of birds from what I have read and seen I would say the best 3 are Meyer, Mt Healthy and Privette. They have breeders suppling them or breed their own. Prices are very good also better than the big 2 MM and Ideal.

I'm not a big fan of shipping chicks. I live 2 hrs from Ideal hatchery and i will always make the trip to get them. Ideal is great to work with and have always been good to me but if you are within driving distance of a hatchery i would recommend trying them. I think most chicks that are doa is from shipping stress. Just my opinion. Good Luck
