I have a while yet, but want to research now...my DH promised to get me a "nice" incubator for Christmas. (I have a LG still air piece of poo right now)...I'd like opinions on a good, user-friendly incubator that can handle at least 3-4 dozen eggs at a time...I'd be open to spending $300-$400 or so. Thanks!

I don't think you can get a Sportsman or Dickey for $300 or $400, can you?
In that price range what I have been seeing is the digital table top incubators like the RCOM and Brinsea models. There is a new RCOM called the SURO that is $300 that has auto temp and humidity that looks very nice to me. It only holds 24 chicken eggs however.
If you need more there is a Brinsea Octagon table top model that holds 48 chicken eggs called the Octagon 40 DX.

I know. Aren't they nice? I think the SURO has more features for less money than the others. It has auto turning, auto temp and auto humidity control.

Oh, and they automatically stop turning the eggs and change humidity at 18 days. Completely dummy-proof. I want one so bad.

I bought a plan for 14.00 to build my own. It will have 5 trays, or 4 trays and one hatching tray. It should cost me about 100-125 to build it. If I want automatic turners they will cost about 45.00 a piece.
