I've been looking for an incubator, and I ended up finding one at the local farm store for 44$ -- except it felt and looked like it was just a chuck of hollow Styrofoam with a heated wire on top! I don't feel comfy paying so much for a box of styrofoam, so I'll prolly end up making mine.

But, question to everyone... What is your favorite incubator? Hovabator, Little Giant, Homemade or other?

I have to say my first incubator was my favorite. It is an r-com digital 3 egg incubator and it really helped us start a small flock when we knew nothing about chickens. The clear window is great for kids. It is great for very small hatches.

I used a still air LG with decent success for a while. I also hand-turned the eggs.
It's not that bad, once you get used to it.
Now I have a cabinet incubator & hatcher.
If you do get a foam 'bator... go for one with a fan. It's a lot easier to regulate & control temps with a fan.

GQF 1502 digital control & water tank, you set the eggs, add water to the tank, wait 21 days, chicks hatch out like pop corn! Pop-Chirp,Pop-Chirp,Pop-Chirp!!!!!

I have an LG and a Genesis 1588. Like both but I like the Genesis better. Temp is preset so no fussing with it. LG is ok once you get the temp right. The knob is very touchy but once I got it the right temp, I haven't had to touch it.
