Best incubator? What do you use?

If you've got the money to spend, I've heard LOTS of good things about the Sportsman cabinet style bators. They also hold lots and lots of eggs! You could start your very own hatchery come spring time! LOL! I however, do not have the room for something that large and opted to go with the Hova Bator Genesis 1588 with the auto turner and LOVE it! It is styrofoam but is so easy to use. It comes preset and holds temps. steady. All you have to do is add water, plug it in, let it warm up for an hour or two, and add your eggs. Simple as that! Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

We started out with a GQF hovabator and found it hatched good but it was very touchy about changes in room temp or drafts.
From there we went to a GQF sportsman and you could hatch wooden eggs in that thing, they work great. This year we bought another sporsman (the new model with the digital temp) works as good as the old model except, 1)The hatching tray is deeper so you have to level the trays to pull it out. 2) the turning racks don't have trays, you just use the egg holders. If you want to get to the back egg holder you have to pull out the front instead of just pulling the whole tray out. means you have the door open that much longer. 3) the small pushbutton controls seem weak and I don't think they will last.
Also, this year we bought a Brinsea 40 and in my opinion it's a way way way overpriced for what you get. you have to pull the egg racks out to check/add water, it's all plastic and molded, it doesn't hold temp well if the temp changes in the room.
With the sportsman you can get replacement parts if something ever breaks plus it works so well it's number 1 with us. And yes it is pricey but ours payed for itself the first season hatching and selling chicks.
