Hi!

I've asked this question before, What are the best layers? Ive always got the same answer, leghorns and sex links. But... Those breeds are already what my flock is primarily made of. So, I would like to have some more variety. Do u guys know of any colorful laying breeds? Or large laying breeds? Anything that's not typical production breeds. I've looked online for breeds but all of the websites say something different.

Easter eggers lay some colorful eggs, while remaining at a high production level.
Leghorns and sex links are good layers.
Rhode Island Reds are awesome large breed layers as are Wyandottes.

Wyandottes lay well. So do my orpingtons. I know this may sound weird but my silkies lay very well!
More:
Legbars
Marans
Brahmas :)

I have Buff Orpingtons they lay consistently six eggs a week. Great personality’s also. :)

My favorite are mixed breeds. Hard to sell chicks unless your niche is farmers... but mine are large, meaty, lay AWESOME brown eggs, brood them to full hatch but still lay, and even lay in winter with only 9 hours of daylight per day... Mine are flashy, especially my rooster. I don't have a picture but he is black, gold, white, barred, laced, every color imaginable- with good conformation.
The right set of mixed breed birds are a win win for everyone and everything! IMG_0860.JPG 20171031_080348.jpg
