Yes, I heard that black austrolorps are nice layers, and are pretty. One or two of those, a rhode island red, a millei fleur, and the rest aeracaunas or easter eggers, they're all on my list. Thanks for all your guys' inputs!

Most of the time people who get their chicks through MPC can figure out what hatchery they drop shipped from by markings on the box and/or the return address. The return address on mine matched up with the MPC headquarters and there were no other hatchery markings on the box. Everything said My Pet Chicken. I don't think they hatch really high numbers or a large variety themselves (hence the drop shipping), but I only ordered EEs. I have no idea what else they may carry themselves.
I would say that sexlinks are really good layers for about a year and then they slope off fast!I am at 1.5 years with mine and I only get 5-6 eggs per day out of 13 hens. They are also prone to egglaying related issues, such as internal laying and being eggbound. So, all in all, I would not recommend them. I would get something that you can rely on for longer.
My best layers are my Black Sex Link, but the RIR's and BR's are pretty good as well. From simply reading about them, Australorps are awesome layers and one actually holds the record (364 eggs in 365 days).
