I'm not 100% sure but i haea friend that has a few and has recommended them to me but i have mix breeds at the moment. so don't quote me but my friend would recommend them. han

The whole reason they MADE the ameraucana was beacause it was more practical than the araucana. The araucana is more of a showy breed. Not to mention, its harder to find.

most Araucana will Outlay most Ameraucana, they are a utilitarian breed and they are Harder to find just in the USA in latin america they are plenty....and if cross with the White Leghorn they will be unbeatable at laying blue egg...

I have raised araucana, ameraucana and EEs. My EEs were the best layers of the 3, likely due to their hybrid nature. My araucana are a close 2nd and lay almost every day. My ameraucana came in 3rd for laying ability. Both my araucana and ameraucana were competitive in broodiness (which interferes with laying). That's my own personal experience.

The white egged leghorn gene is dominant, If you crossed it, it would lay WHITE eggs.

Actually the white egg gene isnt dominant, it is recessive. Maybe you are thinking of the white leghorns color? When you breed a blue egg layer to a white egg layer you get all blue egg layers. When you breed a blue egg layer to a brown egg layer you get green. If you breed a tinted egg layer to a blue egger you get light green eggs, and so on.
I think there is a person (maybe Tim?) thats working on a project for high production blue egg layers and they started with leghorns and araucanas.
