I have BLRW roosters and Blue Wyandotte hens and I might cross some to sell to people who just want a pretty, good egg laying hen for their backyard flock

Last night this little one hatched:

I named "her" Emily. I can't even begin to guess on her breed but she for sure has Cochin in her... her moms were cochin X btw japs (i think) and her dad was cochin X a new hamp? idk we'll just say she's half cochin

They're very pretty too! It's amazing how if you reverse the cross they look totally different!

Here's "Shikaka."

I don't know what exact cross she is. Her mother was either a RIR or BR for sure, and her daddy was a mixed breed. HIS maternal grandsire was a white EE. I think he's part NHR, and maybe some RIR and/or Red Star too. He is a reddish-orangish color with a white tail. Somehow I don't have a pic of him!

And it just rained buckets, so now's not the time to get a pic...

I think she's really pretty! I named her Shikaka when she was really young, and was very much the odd-ball being the only white chick. Now she's a beautiful mature hen, and stuck with a name like that! (Shikaka is named after the albino bat in "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls") And of course when she was younger my brothers enjoyed picking her up and running across the field with her raised in the air, yelling "Shikaka!", in that iritating voice Jim Carrey posesses... Ugh! Brothers!

Now that she's laying I tell them "Don't! You could break her eggs!"

Ohh, soo pretty guys. Heeeeeeeeeeerrre's the newest king of the flock, 5 month old Straight Arrow. I hatched him myself back in February. His sire was a golden-laced Wyandotte and his dam is a rather large buff Rock. He is very manly. Oh! and his color, which I just learned, is buff/red Columbian, because of the green tail feathers. Boy, will he be a looker come next Spring!!

I don't know what he is but this is Bucky. He was tiny!!! My first chicken and one of my favorites to date.
