I currently live in Polk county, Florida on a ½ acre, but I have access to my parents' 100 acre ranch that butts up to mine on 3 sides. I currently have a mixed flock of 15 birds that free-range. I'm looking to add more birds this next spring, but I'm not sure what would be the best dual purpose or meat breed for free-ranging in central florida. I'm not to worried about the fall, winter or spring, but our hot/humid summers. My poor barred rocks don't do to well in the summer without a fan on in their coop.
