Again, I am sorry if my original post came off as rude, but it just rubbed me the wrong way that you would make comment about that D'Uccle auction on eBay when no one asked you directly if you would show those birds, especially when you intend to sell D'Uccle eggs yourself. It's just not polite and not good business.

Chellester, I understand, for the third time. I don't want to argue with you anymore.

Here's the pictures promised of my offspring from the first two birds I posted pictures of. Excuse the bad quality. My birds are extremely friendly and every time I tried to take a picture of them infront of their cage, they'd be turned towards me and jumping because they wanted me to pick them up!

Such cutie patooties. I do recommend this breed to everyone, they are just such darling gorgeous birds and easy to tame. My favorite pullet, Girly, runs over to me and hops on my foot as soon as I come into her run and jumps onto my arm if I don't pick her up fast enough!

Also, my d'Uccles are still only about 7 months old. They mature slowly, and they are still getting their spots in. I normally wouldn't show them until they have all their spots in, but I brought them to these shows to get them "ready".

Once again, remember they aren't posing like they should be!

This is Freckles at a different show, she got 2nd out of a big group of pullets so I was extra proud of her at that show. Her tail is down in this pic, and she hadn't yet developed the white around her face. I would have liked less black on her cheeks (something her father passed to her). Unfortunately, Freckles passed on about a month ago.

And this is Rambo. He had too much white on his chest to show. You can see how sweet he was in this picture! We were watching The Mummy Returns!

He was in my house after getting an eye infection and had to be quarantined

As already stated, we (Kanchii and I breed poultry together) have no intention of selling eggs, in fact we have dropped the breed altogether. Just wanted to point that out to you because she isn't "bashing" other birds in an attempt to promote ours, she is just stating the facts: based on the pictures of those birds and with no knowledge of the type of parents they came from, we would not show them. Put simply, she had no intentions of making a rude comments, everyone is just trying to help someone who wanted to know what to look for in the breed.

You both are missing the point entirely: no one asked either of you if you would show those birds or not, and saying so implies that they are not from SQ lines (which I can assure you they are).

No one is helping anyone by saying "oh I wouldn't show those" with no further explanation until you were asked for one. Doing so implies to those who are newbies that they have to have a coopful of show winners in order to breed show winners, which simply isn't true. It also implies to newbies that the birds being sold are of poor quality, which again is not true. Breeding is hard on birds, so birds in a breeding pen are not going to look like birds in a show cage because they are not seperated from the rest of the flock to be groomed for showing.

This is my first year working with this line, and though they are not perfect (and no bird is, including yours) they have a great deal of potential. I would really appreciate it if you would hold your judgements on my birds until I have some that I am actually grooming to show.
