Best place to get processing supplies???

This question can only be answered properly based on how many birds you plan to do in one day, and how many days a season you plan to process.
There are so many variables and methods, but it really comes down to volume. I've done the turkey-frier pot and hand pluck to do 3 birds, but it would never work at the level we process now at 75 per day every week in season.

Just curious, how long does it take you to do 75 and with how many people working? What kind of scalder and plucker do you use and how many cones? We are continually making changes to our set-up to try and decrease the amount of time it takes us. We do anywhere from 50-70 per day, once a week. We hope to get up to doing 150 per day, twice a week at some point.

I found my traffic cone sitting out by the road in broad daylight with countless people around. Not a construction site, no road work being done, just this lonely cone so of course I had to give it a home. I've also made one out of flashing and really they're both great. One is cut for a little smaller bird than the other.

For the killing, I just use a utility knife with a new blade as I already have tons of those around here and my 8" cooks knife that I keep pretty darn sharp for the rest of it. My setup is a cone attached to a tree with a bucket underneath and a small pallet put on a stump next to it covered with cardboard then heavy plastic for a table. But then I don't do that many birds at once. Most I ever did at once was three unless you count the quails I've done. Big canning pot heated on the stove for scalding.
