How experienced are you? what type of clientele do you cater to? what are you teaching them or are you breaking them? are you insured? helps to know these answers to set a price.

This is going to sound harsh, but true. You are extremely inexperienced and a minor, I wouldn't let you within ten feet of any un-broke horse I owned. Legality's as they are no one is going to want to run the risk of your parents turning around and suing if and when you get hurt. Why not clean stalls, groom, be a trainers helper for a bit while you grow in experience before you want to turn around and slap yourself with the label of trainer.

I have to agree that it is a bit too much of a risk to work riding other people's horses. I've ridden since I was about 6 and while I was in highschool a friend asked me to work his horse and I was bucked off. I was lucky I didn't hit the round pen panel or get stepped on! Both were close.

If you are good at braiding horses' mane and tails, or if you can practice doing these things until you get really good at it, you can actually offer those services at shows. I've been paid before to groom a pony before a potential buyer was coming to see it and there are a lot of people who would rather have someone else braid or band their horses before a show. As long as you are good at it, I don't see why you couldn't do that. Many people are willing to pay $20 or more per horse for nice grooming.

She's not being mean at all. It is the truth. You have to be very careful anytime you work another person's horse, or let someone ride your own horse. That being said, the OP may have a difficult time finding potential customers. I have had friends who worked other friend's horses for a small fee, but that was somewhat of a different situation. The person who owned the hroses had insurance on her property and they had been friends prior.

Yes i know it just makes me mad cause Rachels like a good friend and shes good with horses and all so yeah.....

Most of them are like 10 yrs. old...
My trainer did say i was ready too. I have ridden a LOT of her untrained horses. I have been riding for like 7 yrs. Thx taylor!
