Best Raccoon/Opossum bait?

Since the "passing" of my dog, I've had many problems with varmints. Last year was the worst! Minks, weasels and whatever else after my chickens and coons in my corn!!

I tried almost everything mentioned by all here but did find the dry cat food to be the best. The proof? I trapped 7 coons in and around my sweet corn garden within 3 months. Also caught a couple of stray cats but they didn't come back after a night in the trap!

Where do they keep coming from - how the heck many are in one area? Thinking about another dog...

I caught a coon the other day with apples and carrots. I just saw a possum out around 9am,so I know I gotta keep the trap set!

Something ate the carrots, and nibblds on the apple last night, but it out of the trap without tripping it,grrrrrrr.

Chocolate chip cookies. Oreo cookies. AND best of all, catfish food. I have not found one bird or animal that does not like catfish food.

Noticed that there's not much chit-chat about Minks~ think I posted this picture already somewhere but it's a beauty! As you can see, the bait is chicken!! Fixed the hole this little poop got in to kill so his next best was the fresh dead chicken in the live trap. GOT HIM!!
Anyone else?

Coons LOVE the dry cat food on our back porch! They have learned to sit in the woods nearby and wait for my "Kitty, kitty, kitty" call. As soon as the cats quit eating the coons come racing around the corner of the house to eat whatever is left. (The cats hiss and scratch and chase them off if they try too soon!) Now I sit nearby and keep an eye on the cats as they eat and as soon as they quit eating, right away I pick up and take in anything they leave behind. But the coons still come around for the one or two little pieces the cats drop while eating. I'd say dry cat food would do the trick...at least around here! Good luck!!
