Best rooster breed poll

The most consistently, naturally good roosters that I have had have been Partridge Chanteclers and then OEGBs, in that order. The second breed can have some spitfires, for sure, but if handled properly they are a joy to work with and they are certainly not unintelligent. They seem to have a flair for impressing the hens and they are diligent sky-watchers.
My single best rooster is a pet quality Silkie. Shocking, huh? Wouldn't at all recommend buying Silkies with that expectation, though, since the rest of mine have been terrible to lackluster.

I do love the spunk of OEGB's and I will do some research on the Chanticlers.

Glad to hear that about the Barnevelder, I got shipped extra birds and they slipped in two roos, besides the two I ordered! So I have two Barnevelder cockerels and two Welsummer cockerels. I am hoping since they are being raised together they will settle out their pecking order as chicks

They look hilarious and are supposed to be docile and tame and will take care of your hens, I have one that follows these ‘expectations’

I. Terms of this poll Bantu cochins, silkies, and orps have all taken the lead. That does not diminish the intrigue of the other breeds provided I gives more insight and more research to be done. With as I anticipate more breeds to get a vote. I await those with great anticipation in this informative and insightful thread!

Game fowl roosters are among the least human aggressive, great flock protectors and easy on the eye. Drawback - generally extremely rooster aggressive.

Obviously those are great qualities, have you found the breeds that fit that bill?

Oriental games. As long as you aren't another rooster or a hawk or something, they're your friend for life.
