Best Seeds for Fodder

Thats why I just love BYC, I haven't even thought about growing fodde for my ducks and chickens. I just put up a green house trying to keep tomatoes year round for treats to my babies. I'm going to start this today. I'm so excited. Thanks guys

I’ve been sprouting in Mason Jars for the last few weeks. I only have 4 ladies, so the amount of sprouts works out. BOSS, wheat berries, mung beans and oat groats have worked great. Chia seeds turn into a slimy mess and didn’t work at all in mason jars.

I found cheap seeds in the bulk section of Whole Foods. The BOSS is the giant bag from TSC.

On my mason jars, I started with the metal ring and a piece of screen on the top of the jar, but it rusted after 2 weeks, so I purchased plastic sprouting lids on Amazon.View attachment 1546909

Black Oil Sunflower Seeds

After sprouting for a few months now, I’ve had the best luck with BOSS, Mung Beans and Wheet Berries. I’ve had terrible luck with chia seeds, barley, farro and black beans. I’m constantly trying new stuff I find when it’s cheap. My current experiment is with black eyed peas. My fingers are crossed
