I need to add to my flock because my rooster doesn't have enough girls at the moment. I keep my chickens as pets, so I want breeds that are going to live longer than 4-5 years. Therefore, I don't want breeds that get very big/heavy, or that lay a ton of eggs. They have to be standard breeds. No bantams (my rooster is too big for bantams). They also need to be able to withstand cold winters, and fairly hot summers. Does anyone have any ideas?

Easter eggers! I always recommend them

Thank you! I actually have two EEs, a rooster and a hen. My rooster is pretty nice, but my hen won't let me touch her. They do kind of look like they have some kind of game breed in them though, so maybe that's the reason. These babies would be coming from a different source, so they might be friendlier.
I'll check out the other breeds too!

My barred rocks and blue ameraucanas have super personalities and are "lap chickens" despite my discouraging them (no one wants little chicken foot prints on their pants right before going to work!) I also ordered welbars this year and at a few months old have shown great friendliness and curiosity.
