SO I suggested to my zoology teacher that we study chicken eggs for the development of an embryo and genetics. Believe it or not she actually wants to do it. So after going through the breeds I have and possible mixes I can make, everyone got interested in showgirls. Is there something specific I need to do for this? I have a Turken hen and two silkie roosters that I could use. My question is, since silkie fluff is recessive, will the first batch all be hard feathers and I’ll have to breed them to another silkie for the chance of getting silkie fluff ooooor?

Yep.. basically.. back to each other or to another Silkie feathered bird.

You could just start with show girls though.

First generation will be 100% hard feathered.. second generation bred back to Silkie.. Should be 50% Silkied I THINK.. it's been a while.

Sounds like a fun class! :pop
