Best way to get turkeys in the coop without a chase at bedtime?

Also wanted to add onto my post. If they become too much of a hassle after having time out, I go back to square one to training them in the coop for a week with the consistency of feeding at least an hour before sundown so right now, for me, that is around 6/6:30. That way they know that they roost in the coop and not outside.

You really want them to know where home is and where their safe space is. So the treats throughout the day in their coop and making the coop seem as inviting as possible is necessary.

Do you have a pretty big coop? With high ceilings? Turkeys like to roost high and go where the light is. So make sure their space is light and welcoming with a lot of food and yummy treats!

Thank you! That’s so nice of you! I have eight. And I know this might classify me as crazy, but they are all pets and will not be somebody’s dinner :) So training is pretty vital.

You are not crazy! Mine are all pets too! I only have two turkeys but I love them to pieces and will likely get more :ya Please keep me updated on how they do!!

I have 4 coops and the coops with just poults treats work... they see me with the treats and run to the coop at night. I use the same style container.
The coops with poults , chicks , adult chickens and adult turkeys.. well the littles get run out with the stampede of adults going for the treats... I use r2elks two poles method for them... usually just spreading my arms work after they are trained.
