Does anyone have any suggestions on the easiest and best way to get your hen to go broody?

Any information would be great.

Thank you.

With my flock I've found that anytime I don't have any fertile eggs for them to hatch several will go broody. Coincidence ............ or some great poultry plot in the works.

One of mine went broody a few days after I put a towel over the nest box. I draped it so it covered the entrance like a curtain, with a 3" opening on one side. It made it nice and dark inside.

But, now both of my hens are broody. I wish I could send you one! I don't know what to do, I don't know if they'll fight over the chicks or what.

say it once when i was a little kid and havent seen it since.

I had 2 white cochin bantams go broody on 20 eggs and hatched ALL of them out and only 1 died!!!!! They will steal eggs from one - another, but they will share the chicks, too. But, you may want to put the hens in different nests, though. But it's okay for 2 hens go broody on the same nest spot!!!

I don't know, but from what I hear, the best way to get a broody hen is to not want one.

That's about it. That or buy the most expensive bator you can find and fill it with expensive eggs. You can't make a hen go broody, they either will or they won't.
I've tried every trick in the book. They don't work. And yes, my nestboxes are covered, dark and secluded.
