MAYBE the mother hen leaves less the last few days so less humidity escapes? I have no idea. I have thought about that, too, as well as the fact that chicks hatch in Arizona where is is arid and desert! I really would like to know why every book and every expert claims high humidity is the way to go, when soooooo many people have the opposite experience.
THANK YOU to all for your responses. I feel much better about trying a lower humidity hatch this time. It is certainly worth a shot, and with your expereince I am more confident that it is a mistake, as the books would have me believe.
